This 20-hour course introduces students to the requirement of NFPA 921 and is designed specifically to provide a clear definition of the role of first responders in fire investigation and provides essential knowledge to enable them to recognize the potential of intentionally set fires, preservation and protection of evidence, and proper reporting of information to appropriate officials. Lecture sessions are reinforced with hands on burn cell investigations and demonstrations. By strengthening the partnership between first responders and investigators, the chances for successfully solving arson-related crimes will increase.
Required equipment:Turnouts or jumpsuit, or wildland PPE. Hard Hat or Structural Helmet. Structural Boots or Work Boots, Leather Gloves, and Safety Glasses.

If for some reason you cannot attend the course that you have registered for, you shall submit in written form the reason that you will not be able to attend the course, have your department chief or training officer sign the letter and submit this to the North Idaho Chiefs Association ASAP. The North Idaho Chief’s Association shall review each letter and make the determination to refund the registration fee or not.
